I will be there on Friday. I'll follow the normal tradition and be propping up
the bar at 12:30.

Saturday, whereupon I will probably pick Lester's brains again as I still
haven't decided yet how-much/when/if to pursue CNC.

I will be there all 3 days on the Hull MES stand showing off the
rebuilt Super 7. I'll try to get to the bar for 12.30 on Friday as
well then :)

Would be good to put some faces to the names..... Lester , Tony etc :)
Tim Leech - 04 May 2008 17:37 GMT
It now looks as though I may after all have a choice of Saturday or
Sunday.
Any views on which might be better?
I did pick up a couple of bargains a few years ago on the Sunday,
stuff the stallholders were pleased not to have to load up & carry
home, but I'm not really looking for workshop stuff at present.
Except maybe a new DRO <g>

Even though I could go Friday it was such a bloody nightmare last year
with all the doddering old farts cluttering up the place I'll either
give it a miss completely or go Saturday.

I noted a deafening silence when I asked for views on whether Sat or
Sun would be the better day to go, given a choice (which I still
*might* have).
Fri/tomorrow sounds to be a bad choice, not an option for me anyway.
No-one else here has volunteered that they might go on Sunday, some
have said Sat.
Sunday will probably be queiter, will I miss anything by going then,
if I can make it for a reasonable hour?

First trip to Harrogate was a Friday,  being a working day it should be
quiter than Saturday,  wrong.  Crushed to death, couldn't get at the stalls.
Certain the stink was the other guy.
Second trip I went along was a Sunday.  I knew the stink was me because
there was only me there and everything I wanted had been sold.
Third trip I went on a Saturday,  I could see stuff,  buy stuff and there
was comfortable ambiguity about where the stink might be coming from.

So should be there tomorrow morning...

That does tend to be true. I hope to survive to be one of the old farts in
another 25 years time.

So that makes you a cool forty-six then?  :)

I am, by the way, set to ponder just how old this N. O'Spam person
really is.

Obviously quite young, and hailing from the modern school of little
regard for his elders, he feels the need to hide away behind a nom de
guerre.

What a nice man!

I'm an old fart, I was young once but that was many, many decades ago.
If I ever get to the doddering old fart stage then I promise I'll
never ever clutter up the aisles at Harrogate.  It's a show that has
seriously outgrown the location, the doddering senile old farts just
push it over the edge and turn it into a deeply unpleasant experience.
Sharing a glorified unventilated tin shed with thousands of BO laden
pensioners stinking of piss when it's 70 deg F outside and touching 80
deg F inside is not my idea of fun.  It'll be just my luck that they
all turn up on Saturday this year.......

People do say this about old people but the worst smells I have ever had
to contend with have come from young people (under 25 or so) especially
the smell of stale urine.

I hope I don't smell but one never knows about oneself because if you do
you would be used to it.

I am not that young but will be 76 in august.

I got my half century at the end of March this year. Most of the children at
work think that I'm already an old fart. I have to keep telling them that
there is a difference between old fart and miserable git.

Single website is a little lacking in pictures.
http://nmeme.theeventsoffice.co.uk/whats_on.htm

But many of the clubs listed will have pictures of what they were showing.
Harrogate is one of the larger model engineering exhibitions with a large
number of models running around outside.
