Hi
Just wondering if anyone uses the imported piston type QC
posts/holders and if they suffer from any on the problems the cheap
Dickson type have?
Cheers
Paul

As I've said before my Arc Euro 200 size one doesn't suffer from the
problems I had with reproduction Dixon T1 kit.
The 200 is designed for bigger lathes (up to 6.5" I think) but the 100
would suit smaller machines. For £100 you can get a toolpost and 4
holders that really work with additional holders costing only £15. No
contest. IMHO for home use it is wiser to flog the Dixon bits and buy
the replacement.

I thought Dickson is a piston type?

Thanks for the replies.
I think of the piston type being:

and the dickson type being:

Not sure if this is correct as I`m a novice but I liked the look of
the "Piston type" and opion seems to be that Arc euro, Tony ( above)
supply kit thats Ok straight form the box. I`ve had no feed back on
Chronos Piston QC holders but Other kit from them has been fine.
Thanks again

Fitted to my Sieg lathe as standard & used heavily with very frequent
tool changes for the past year. No problems at all & it appears to be
quite good quality & well made.
Having shopped around for extra tool holders I get the impression
they're all from the same Chinese factory. All the UK suppliers I found
could ID the holders from the same part no'.
