I wouldn't be surprised to find that Hornby are so pleased with the
response to their new 08 that they are pushing ahead with new tooling for
both a 47 and a 37. Save the pennies for them instead.

If I had any say in what Hornby were to produce in the way of diesel models
(which I don't) I'd be going for a class 66 and a class 56.
The 66 is the future of the freight railway in the UK for the forseeable
future and Hornby need to have one in their range however good the current
Bachmann offering is. The 56 just cries out to be re-tooled. The 47 and 37
can wait for now! :-)

New one on me, but I did hear it suggested there might be some Lima
re-releases in 2006.

Hi John, I meant a brand new retooled 37 with class 50 bogies. ;-)))))

Well if they are going to do that then I hope they pick appropriate class
37s to model. I don't believe the class 50 (or even class55) bogie is
compatible with all 37s.

The latest edition of the club magazine is deliberately coy about the
subject.
"And what, we are asked continually, of a Class 47? Will there be one, and
if so, when? Unfortunately we can't tell you at the moment - we will all
have to wait and see!!"
My guess is production capacity in China has forced them to put it on hold.
