I have a Tri-ang Hornby (mfg Rovex Scale Models Ltd) boxed set called
'The Midlander' RS.8
It contains loco, tender, two carriages and an oval of track plus a
dealership booklet - all original from, I believe, 1965. It's been in
my family since new having belonged to my dad, older brother and me.
If I was to sell/auction does anyone know of it's value?
It's in remarkable condition considering it's 40 years old with no
broken/missing parts (apart from one or two missing sleepers on a few
of the straights) and some of the gold markings on the loco have rubbed
off.
Mechanicaly everything is sound and the loco still pulls the train
albeit in fits and bursts - nothing a little TLC would take care of!

Thanks

Chris

A absolute mint unused example went for £80 at a Vectis auction in
January.

Personally I think the seller is taking the urine.  The item is not even in
mint condition and the box has been repaired.

I think the whole site is taking the urine. The very first item I
looked at is described thus:

"DJH HORNBY DUBLO KIT BUILT BR 2-6-0 LNER K3 LOCO SUPERB

ANCHORIDGE METAL FINELY DETAILED KIT BUILT LOCOMOTIVE

<snip>

This Anchoridge metal kit is beautifully constructed and fitted with a
Portescap or similar quality electric motor. "

So who made it? What type of motor does it have?

This is not Aldo's new auction site is it?

Thanks Nick,
I got to say that's a first class website you got there, obviously a
'Growler' fan like me!
I've got two 37s in my collection one a BR blue/yellow and another the
same but somewhere in the past someone has 'weathered' it using what
looks like Grey Dulux paint!
I'll have to take a few photos of my locos and post them up somewhere
to share with the group.

Regards

Chris
