Hi,

Could someone please refresh my memory as to when British Railways
introduced the yellow band on coach exteriors above first class
accommodation?

Thanks,

Roger Thomas,
Swansea, UK.

From memory it was inherited from pre nationalisation practice, started on
London suburbans in the 1920s if memory serves. I could be wrong on this, BR
may have officially addopted it at some point.
