a) any instructions for fitting a generic, NMRA compliant decoder will
do the job for you.

b) your main problem is finding a decoder that will fit, so rephrase
your question, and you'll get expert advice on which decoders and where
to find them.

Cheers,

Ever tried chipping Farish steam outline?

I suspect the OP is after fitting details specific to Farish steam
locos, and how to isolate the bottom motor brush from the live
chassis, in particular. Generic decoder fitting instruction aren't
much use at all.

You really need to use the brush isolation kit from Gerry Spencer or
the Digihat from Digitrains, both can be found by googling. The GS kit
has the advantage that the brush is still held by a metal brush holder
and doenst rely entirely on the brush spring for electrical contact.

You will not go wrong with a Zimo MX620, but make sure the loco wuns
well on DC before starting.
