You must be a real hit at dinner parties.
In the 1970s they had one in the airship reception area at the top of the
Empire State Building that took a US penny, split it in half, gave you half
with the building printed on it and kept the rest to sell (or so the guide
told us).

In the 1980s they had one that took two coins and gave you one back
with an image of the ESB stamped on it. I still have one somewhere.

The Mint in Canberra has a machine that will make a nice shiny new $1
Australian coin. It costs $2 to have a turn...

NO ! But he would have made more noise when he got shot.
You must be a real hit at dinner parties.-
dinner parties ? The wife is a big fan of that ‘Come Dine With Me TV’
show. For those of you who don’t know the format of the show it’s
about 4 or 5 complete strangers who are got together to compete
against each other for a £1000 cash. They each invite these others to
their homes for a dinner party and th other give them a score out of
10 based on the quality of the food and the host. Best score at the
end of the week wins.
Some are the guests are, as Del Boy would say, ‘right plonkers’. My
guess is they are ‘plants’ provided by the producers of the show ...
but then again some people are liken that.
One chap cooked kangaroo another was a wine buff and yet another was a
bread making ‘expert’ ?
In answer to your question / statement “You must be a real hit at
dinner parties” ....... NO ! Party yes, dinner party no. If I came
across someone like the above at the table I would want to give them a
good slap.
I am however a hoot at after dinner speeches or so I am told :-)
