Are all Chinese ladies good at loco assembly or is it specific to a
particular province. Would it be better to get one already trained for a
particular scale ?

Already got one like that, OK as long as dont ask for anything and selective
deafness means I dont argue.

It's great what you can do with some old plastic bottles and some
sticky back plastic ......

or program to hear what would like to hear :-) (saves normal filtering and
subsequent silence)

Yes ! one has one of those motors used in pagers

The Jeremy Clarkson one has a V8 twin turbo 7600 cc motor that will
take you head off or anything else you get near it :-)

Sorry Len the sound module is hard wired and the battery NEVER runs
out !

I missed that bit at first, not at all sure what you are implying there.

Had Claughton chassis running yesterday for 10 minutes with valve gear at
full tilt, then one of crankpins unscrewed itself from wheel. Now these are
deluxe Romfords (only the best) which means its threaded on outside. But
crankpins nuts are top hat shaped and all rods etc are supposed to be opened
out onto them. Dont want to do that and dont want rods on threads, so
decided to replace all crankpins with ordinary ones. Also decided to open up
holes on crankcovers so could remove crankpins without remove crankcovers -
not sure why as theyre only glued on.

So few hours later having done all that and just soldering final return
crank in place when bottom half of slidebars falls off. Now that was cruel,
was never ever going to touch this valve gear again, just hide loco if it
broke and seemed too difficult to fix.

But what the heck, bit of glue at base of cylinders for one end of slidebar,
bit of solder at the other against motion bracket.  Redo cos union and
combination rods at wrong angle. There almost finished and back to where was
at last session. Think will stop and choose the crew. Yep can dream.

Only been at it over a month now.

Cheers,
Simon

Can't see how she would further progress in the hobby, more of an inhibitor
:-) Watched film with miss Jolie the other day, absolute rubbish except just
watched her.
