Want to get into the hobby. Please help..

I'm heavily into EP and GP cars/trucks. In front of where I work is a
drainage ditch and It's just begging me to get a damn boat!!!

I think I want something small with a deep V and GP but I'm not
familiar with any of the boat companies out there. What can you
recommend??

Also, I'd very much like a kit and not an RTR.

IMO the Academy electric power boats represent best $ value in ARTR.
