Hello,

I am wondering which scale I should go for, if I try to fit a Picco 90
marine inside the notre dame hydro plan we have on this site ?.
PLans availables round here are only for electric, and I prefer
nitro...

Other info like offset, CG, propeller angle / position are also
welcome..together with general plywood/balsa thickness. will help me go
strait to z point.

This one will be a scratch built one of course.

Cheers and have fun !

You wouldn't want to go any smaller than 1/8 scale with a 90 I would
think. I don't know the length of the real Notre Dame, but most
unlimiteds are somewhere around 28 to 30 feet long if I'm not mistaken.
That would make a 1/8 scale boat about 43 inches give or take an inch or
so. I'm no expert but I would start with the bottom of the strut even
with the bottom of the sponsons and parallel with the bottom of the boat
and adjust from there when you see how it runs. I would put the strut
about 1/8 inch to the right of center if it were me and balance the boat
at about the center of the turn fin. Like I said I'm no hydro expert,
but that's where I would start with the setup.  Doug

Yep, I agree with what Doug said re the hull size and strut placement
(Perhaps 1/2 deg negative angle on the strut).

Raising the strut will make the boat faster, but less stable in the
rough and lowering it will make slower and more stable.
