Look around for the North Texas Model Shipwrights club. Ask around at
the hobby shops. Somebody should know a contact.

hey guys(and gals) sorry no pics yet, i swear(fingers crossed)i;m
charging my camera batteries tonight. anyway, i have multiple questions/
cats to string up a flag pole...to see if anyone salutes.(I love cats,
DON'T do this)
ok. cooling. as i'm building a fair sized vessel(5'7") i have room to
play. would an ice pre-cooler with a copper tubing help in motor/battery
life? the water would come in the usual manner with a tube in the
prop wash. cooling the motor with just water is normal, what about
chillin' it down to ice water?
the power. I'll be the first to admit....i'm cheap(re:frugal) i'm
thinking of using the motor i salvaged from a bissel hand steam vac
thing. it used to run just the "fan" so it's not the most powerful but
should help run times. my proble is power, two six or two telve volt
batteries, would this "540" style motor be enough for my ship? it'll
weigh(fully loaded)upwards of 100Lbs.... empty 40ish Lbs. a two-to-one
reducer? more? this motor caught my eye because it has an internal brush
coolling fan.
Prop. given the above weights and the need to be the fastest tanker
around, within reason, what size prop? As she lies, the hull will take
up to 3 inches(sounds dirty...and pathetic....snif)of total prop size?
thanks for any ideas, and i'll work on the pics(i should be more exited
'cause it looks COOL)
