My 11 yr old is thinking about buying a Pro Boat Shockwave 26 EP RTR Elec RC Boat. Its his own (earned) money but I am interested in opinions whether this is a good option for him. This will be his first boat and he is looking for a boat that is essentially ready-to-go out of the box. He obviously looking for more boat than what he would find at Toys R' Us. Is the electric Shockwave a good beginner's boat? Are there better priced alternatives? Best John Pelchat Well, first go to www.finedesignrc.com and look up UFO which are 21 boat. One of those I have been considering for the quick fix is the "Zig Zag racer" by Hobbyzone. It is an Almost ready to run boat tha is quick, and very responsive. One of the other guys in the local boa club had a couple and let me run one. It is a good starter and offer some cute accessories.
