Please excuse the multi-post, but it's a multi-group question: has
anyone else had less-than-sparkling quality control issues with
MegaTech products, especially recently? Out of the last three MegaTech
items I've sold (two Helichoppers and a Capitol Flyer), all three were
DOA when the customer got them home. All three were Christmas gifts,
which just makes it worse.
When I tried to call MegaTech customer service (trying to revive the
Capitol Flyer, which, among even more serious failures, had a large
toroidal coil that had broken off the circuit board and was rattling
around in the charger box), their phone system was completely down,
due to call volume. When I finally DID contact them, through a
combination of email, front-office calling, and prayer, they told me
to ship the items back to New Jersey -- at MY expense -- and they
would ship me replacements, after the defective items arrived. I chose
instead to return the items to my distributor for credit.
I still have a couple of SkyVectors on the shelf, but I'm seriously
considering pulling THEM as well, as selling customers junk is not my
idea of good business. If anyone else has had bad experiences with
MegaTech, I'd like to hear about them, either in the NGs or by private
email.
Thanks...

I work in an LHS. We have yet to get a megatech product that wasnt cheap
or worked as advertized. I have 2 merlins in my basement that in my
opinion are the biggest ripoff yet. We ordered 2 helichoppers for the
holiday...tested one in the shop... it wouldnt work if the transmitter
was more than 5' away...both went back to the distributor..sorry but the
only good thing I have to say is they spent a TRUCK load of money well
on whoever did their marketing....
just my $.02

Sorry for my English if you dont understand all, i am French.
I buy a Megatech helicopter for Christmas and i return them two day after.
I never be able to make im fly, he always spin fast on the roof and crash on
the side, that all.
And the time of charge is very very long for 1 minute of fun.
