I'm replacing an old radio that isn't narrow band.  I currently
use JR computer radios with my heli.  I see a 75mHz Futaba T2ER
2-channel and a Hitec Ranger IIN 27mHz at my local hobby store.  I
think I would rather have only 75, and the store can order both radios
either way.  I also would like to know that I could swap servos around
if I want.  Is the Hi-Tec wiring and connector identical. Recharging
in the tx is nice, but I can take out the batteries I suppose.

I saw only 1 3-channel stick radio which I could not even find on the
HiTec site
what's up with that?  It's called a Ranger III FM, is it still
available?(http://www.hitecrcd.com/Radios/Ranger3fm.htm)

I'm looking for input especially about things that I might miss, like
if I'm a JR guy I would prefer one or the other or there is not
charging jack on a radio, etc.  Thanks!

Hitec is fully compatible with your JR servos as Hitec has the same
S-01 connectors. Signal wire is yellow in lieu of orange and negative lead
is black in lieu of brown.
The 2 stick Ranger 3FM is available on 35 & 40 Mhz but probably not in USA
where the single stick Neon SS FM is packaged with the Sky Scooter as most
there are mode 2 flyers. 00000
The Hitec charge connector uses the same 2.1mm plug as the JR but note that
the polarity - centre on JR is different to all other brands which are +
centre pin.

Try this address it should lead you to the tower hobbies list of radios
It has the ranger radios and at 75Mhz I think, forgot to check while
was there.
