Hi, I've just moved to some property that has a two acre pond and I want
to get into rc boating (racing boats) with a few friends. Not a large
budget to start with, and would prefer electric at this point. Is there
something in the $50 to $150 range for a novice? Ready to go and not too
slow (I'd like at least 15 mph, and closer to 25 if possible). Any
suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

Paul, on the eastern shore of the northern Chesapeake Bay, Maryland.

I can't recommend a specific model, my only boats are nitro.  I can
suggest a place to look, RC Universe http://www.rcuniverse.com/index.cfm

Try looking around in the forums and marketplace.  Lots of good stuff.
