Have a very old plan, and I wish to build this model again.

Problem is I do not have all of the plan.

The plan is of the Ragtime, a model 1M yacht featured in the Marine
Modelling World Wide Plans Service, (MMWWPS), books many years ago.

I have the hull, but I have no details on the size of mast, rigging, or
sails.

Anyone with a copy of this please let me know, and may be I can borrow them
from you.

If anyone has information on the MMWWPS, I would like to know as this plan
may still be around.

Many thanks for anything you can offer.

Cheers Vaughn

I have a Ragtime 1m yacht with current certificate and all three
sails. I don't have any drawings but if there is anything specific you
need to know I'll try and help with photos and measurements. My
Ragtime is 7 years old so while not state of the art  is not so very
old and has carbon fin. rudder etc and fairly standard suit of sails
and masts which Sails etc, Housemartin or other sailmaker can supply.

What I have is a part built Model, and the plan for the hull.

being very new to yachts, I have no idea how to rig it, or what size the
mast should be, or the size and shape of the sails.

any help here would be very gratefully received.

Have a ook at the US one metre guide http://www.amya.org/us1mcons.html
which will tell you all about onstruction, rigging etc. Ragtime is
quite conventionl so the information will apply easily.

Contact andrea(at)housemartinsails.co.uk for a catalogue or look at
their website www.housemartinsails.co.uk  You only need the No. 2 set
of sails initially. housemartin can also sell you other fittings you
may need.

Finally try to find a local club that sails one metre, they can be
more help that ony printed guides.

Ragtime is a very nice boat and quite fast at club level. Have fun.

By '2nd' set do you mean the ones referred to as the 52" Luff for winds
above 5 MPH, as:

Sail Area
Main 318.28
Jib       279.00
Total    597.28

If this is correct I presume the mast is 52.5" long plus, the amount into
the deck, plus another 5 inches. 3.5" under the main sail, and 1.5" above???

Thanks Vaughn

Well I use the type of rig with a mast stub, goosneck, kicking starp
and main boom as a unit  with interchangeable masts which plug into
the mast stub.  (decribed as 'super rig' bt Housemartin.)
The stub is 183mm to the shoulder, then no. 2 mast is 1188mm - total
about 54 in

I am sure this is the same rig as you describe and it gets used for at
least 80% of the time.
