I'm just building a Stuart D10 steam engine - it is quite powerful, OK
for up to about 60 inch hull and would welcome any ideas for the boat
to put it in. I prefer to scratchbuild where possible

That is a really nice engine, if it were mine I would want to show it
off so perhaps a steam launch where the engine can be on show would be
nice.

If you fancy a scratch build why not look to model something from the
Windermere Steam Boat Museum, like their SL Branksome:

I cannot see any plans listed on their shop page currently but I know
that they did offer plans so may be worth contacting them directly.

You could also try the SBA for inspiration, perhaps picking something
from the Steamboat Register or looking through a copy of an old
Simpson Strickland catalogue:

I am currently doing a Krick Victoria which is based upon a Simpson
Strickland design and has a very nice shape to the hull.
