I am at present building a 7mm scale (1:43) model railway based around
a Cornish/Devon fishing village, date about the 1950's and need info
on the following;
Type of fishing boats used by this type of harbour and is any info
available on the Web.
Where can I purchase 1:43/1:48 scale model boat fittings?
Plus any other help as may be useful.
I am based in the UK.

Many thanks,
Roy.

Hallo Roy
I hope this will help.I was stationed near Newquay Cornwall in 1953 and
if my memory can be relied on fishing boats were around 30 to 40 feet
in length and either tiller steered or had a small one person
wheelhouse aft. The boats themselves were displacement hulls and decked
in at the bows only most had a mast forward and the cupboard under the
deck was called a cuddy head and housed a various assortment of gear.
The boats were either long liners or crabbers or a mixture of each  the
fish being caught mainly pilchards. A  crew of one or two men was the
norm and I will add to this as memory returns if you wish best of luck
in your venture
