RC car parts - 09 Jun 2005 16:45 GMT
Hi, I have a Prather with a Zenoah G23 gas engine. When running the
boat the other day, it flipped upside down, and now I cant get it to
start. Any ideas? I pulled the plug and pulled the start cord to blow
out the cylinder. I also installed a new spark plug. Thanks for any
help

Methanol can mix with water and can mix with gasoline.  Pour a few cc of
methanol into the cylinder, from the spark plug opening.  Pull the
starter to pump out excess methanol/water mixture.  Repeat this process
for a few times.  Lastly, lubricate the cylinder, use something like
WD-40.  Excess lubricant difficult engine start.  Cannot completely pull
out the water, but the remaining methanol/water mixture can mix with
gasoline and is likely combustible.
