I am making a scale wooden model that I will be fiberglassing with
epoxy resin.  What type of primer and paint is suitable for this
material?

Thanks.

At the risk of being obvious, I had good results several years ago
with epoxy paint. I used several coats, rubbing it out with extra fine
steel wool between. (It was a warship hull and I found a shade of
flat gray as a stock color that was perfect. I can't remember the
brand, I suspect it's defunct now, but there are several brands
out there.)

IIRC, I used a couple of those disposable sprayers - the kind that
screw onto a bottle. Instead of using a bottle, I mixed up the paint
in a disposable cup and held the cup in one hand, the sprayer in
the other. Between coats I just dipped the siphon hose into a cup
of denatured alcohol and gave it a short squirt to clear it. (If you're
a smoker, put 'em away while doing this :-)  Wasn't fancy but it
worked fine.
