Steam project - Alexandra and Pintail

Hello,

I just purchased from a UK distributor what may be one of the last
Cheddar Models "Pintail" steam engine, along with the launch
"Alexandra" from Krick. Cheddar Models is in the process of being
acquired by Stuart Models, and it's unclear what will happen to the
line of steam engines from Cheddar (I'd guess nothing good).
I live in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, and it is difficult  to
find info in the US about steam models and even more difficult to find
a club with members interested in this aspect of the hobby.
So I decided to create some kind of blog about my experience with the
construction of the boiler, engine and boat. I am also interested with
anyone willing to share experience, tricks etc about their own
experience by posting back to this group.
I'll post a pointer to my blog later on.
Happy steaming!

Stephan

Sad news if the Cheddar range ceases.

You can find details of my project on a Cheddar Puffin and Krick
Victoria and useful steam model links at
http://www.astbury.org/models/mdmain.htm
I am UK (Scotland based) although I know Boston well being an ex Fleet
National Bank employee.

And I have a blog which has little on it currently but could be used
for some steam model discussions
http://astbury.blogspot.com/

Contact me and/or join the blog team via
http://www.astbury.org/contact.htm

Hope this helps.
Duncan
