I used to have a CNC mill but sold it because it was to small. I have a
full size Southbend mill and a 15" x 40" lathe. I am using them to make
a CNC router to cut out boat parts on. It will only be able to do a
maximum of 36" x 18" sheets so the bigger boats would have to be
scarfed together. Not the best but after I get this done I will see if
tio can make a long one for up to 96" long parts. It will be big enough
to make those little scale hydro's posted on several sites.

thats sounds good how are you making the controll for the cnc router,
for bigger parts could you not machine one half then move it over and
do the other half, thats what i do at work if a jobs to big, my largest
machine is a hurco bmc 30 htm, linked to a cad cam system. our parent
company has a massive cnc router they use it to cut out panels for
using in swimming pools instead of using tiles. but theres no way i
could get them to cut out my hull parts :(
just noticed you are in florida i am coming over on holiday in august.

I am buying all off the shelf stuff to run it from the controller, the
drivers powersupply, steppers etc..
Here is a picture of the table with the gantry. The Y rails are done
and I will be adding the X rails tonight.
