A little help for the newbiw???

Hey everyone, I  just signed up for the website today hoping you guys
can help me out.  Im looking to build a simple RC boat(Electric).  The
first problem i have is not know how RC electronics work...How does the
the signal from the transmitter go to the reciever and then in turn
power the engines???What electronics do i need to build a twin engine
boat besides the motors? From what im seeing all i need is to get a
radio transmitter and reciever, but im pretty sure im missing other
things(it cant be that simple).  Any and all help would be greatly
appreciated.

hi mate i dont know alot about elec`s.. but i do know you need to
also get a ''''esc ''''.electric speed contol .. they come in difrent
amp`s to suit the motor or to give you power flow to the motor.... and
some are water cooled for boats same as motors to keep the temp
down.....
im shore there will be somone on here that knows alot about
elec`s........

Hi Guys,

I'm quite new to the sport of RC boating, having wanted a change from
RC planes. I do, however, know the basic components of an RC boat:
-Transmitter. This is what the pilot uses on the shore to control the
boat.
-Receiver. This receives the radio signal from the transmitter, and
controls the servos, ESC, etc.
-Servo(s). These are the tiny little geared motors that control the
rudder etc.
-ESC. (Electronic Speed Control) This controls the motor, by changing
the amount of power to the motor.
-Motor. Turns the propeller, and can be brushed or brushless, the
latter being more powerful but more expensive and requiring a special
ESC.
-Battery. Powers the whole system. Popular varieties include NiMh.
NiCd, and LiPo.
