Correcting an Incorrectly Broached Keyway10 Mar 2010 23:42 GMT6
One of our engines has a new flywheel that we had cast and machined some 10
years ago, but we always suspected that the keyway was not right, but as it
wasn't in use, it was left under its sheet to slumber the years away.
We are just reviving it, and the question of the keyway has ...

Schaublin 1309 Mar 2010 06:05 GMT3
Has anyone on the list got a Schaublin 13? I would be very interested
to hear what this type of mill is like to operate. Good points and
bad. My main interest would be its use as a vertical mill as opposed
to horizontal.

Pennsylvania model train layout11 Mar 2010 01:52 GMT12
Several years ago (maybe as much as 15) my wife and I were traveling through
Pa. on I 76 and stopped at a very large layout. Several thousand sq feet. I
tried to google it to find it, but have had no luck. Does anyone remember
the name of it or if it was still there? I think it ...
James May Record Attempt10 Mar 2010 23:23 GMT15
The Hornby magazine has and article on the attempt. It refers to the stolen
batteries and transformers but it refers to ill-spirited members of the
public sabotaging the line.
Exactly what did they do?

I recently had the privilege of taking photos at Seaboard Southern's
Crawley, UK (near Gatwick airport) headquarters. They are certainly
making considerable progress with their layout.

What do people think of Hornby's "R2706   GWR "The Flying Dutchman"
Train Pack"?
I'm particularly interested in pre-1900 prototypes, but I've only seen
pictures of this model.

Rocket-based ejection system24 Jan 2010 13:11 GMT3
Is it possible to purchase engines that only have the ejector/igniter
component? I'm looking for a zero-downthrust system to eject a
parachute from a UAV should a system failure occur in flight.
Any tips on the details of the system would also be appreciated;
