RCU ain't that bad17 Sep 2003 23:40 GMT6
I've been watching the commotion over the facelift at RCU for a while
now, and I don't get the blind rage and venom being sprayed.  The site
took me a day or so to get used to; I don't particularly like change.
But I have to say, it's as easy to use and easier to customize.  Now

Transmitter on FIRST!17 Sep 2003 16:41 GMT14
Everyone knows the radiotransmitter must be on while the receiver is

But why is this?
And what are the consequences of sloppyness in this matter?

twin speed400 with twin battery packs ?17 Sep 2003 07:06 GMT1
I have 8cell packs of 1050mAh - type KAN NiMH and would like to use them in
a twin speed400 model - a foam Horten VII flying wing
One single 1050mAh pack will not be enough for both motors. Is it possible
to use 2 packs and motors in a serial circuit ?
Prop question17 Sep 2003 06:17 GMT2
I pretty much understand how and why props have different pitches.  But
how does a larger diameter prop affect your flight since your only
changing by say 1/2" on a side?

Toe out!?17 Sep 2003 02:39 GMT3
I have an electric airplane that weighs 3 1/2 lbs. After about 100
flights, the wire landing gear had twisted such that the axel of the
left gear had twisted to give the left wheel a toe out. It surprised
me that there were no adverse effects on the ground handling. The fact

Hi Gang,
Several of us are involved in a winter challenge project this
year, proposed by a fellow club member. The challenge is simple, and
it is to build a scale (can't be an ARF) project for next spring.
Unused Batteries17 Sep 2003 01:21 GMT8
The NiCad batteries in my radio and the gel cell battery in my starter will
be unused for 6+ months while I am away.
What is the best way to leave them?  Charge them up and leave them hoping
they will be OK when I get back? Leave the power on an let them discharge
