3D Plane for TH .75?28 Sep 2003 21:55 GMT4
I am looking for a good 3D plane that I can use my Tower Hobbies .75
two-stroke on. I was thinking of an Uproar or U-Can-Do 3D, but would like
your recommendations as well. I would like to do harriers, hovering,
blenders and the like.
Composite sources28 Sep 2003 20:03 GMT2
Has anyone bought materials from this company?
http://www.advancedcompositetraders.com/
They have very low prices on carbon and kevlar fabrics, possibly liquidation
stocks.  Any good?

OS FS52 to much meat for a SIG LT-25 ????28 Sep 2003 18:00 GMT9
I am looking at buying my second RC airplane. I have an OS Max FS52 from a
previous trainer (Thunder Tiger 40 ARF) and I am looking at getting a SIG
Kadet LT-25. Is that particular engine to big for it? The plane is
physically bigger than my TT but the specs suggests a .20 - .26 ...
Flair Patriot28 Sep 2003 11:44 GMT8
Anyone built & flown one of these? I am looking for a model to suit my OS 70
Surpass, built & flown many Acrowots in the past, but the climate here does
not agree with foam & veneer. The Flair kit also has the advantage of being
available here, the Acrowot requires ordering from the ...

Am thinking of buying the GeeBee ARF but would like to know what the plane is
covered with?  Hope it's not covered with that stuff that's on the Tower
Trainer.

Ailerons28 Sep 2003 00:20 GMT5
Ok next question.
My trainer had only one central aileron servo, but this cub I'm building
has two, one for each side. Do I use some sort of Y cable, or two
channels of the receiver?
Extra 230 :-)28 Sep 2003 00:20 GMT2
I got my Xtra 230 up today (bought it at the croydon show last week, its
white and covered in sony labels and it was being flown at the show).
A fe hiccups, I couldn't get it to loop as it just rolled out due to the
engine not having enough power and when I landed the first time ...
question about new batteries28 Sep 2003 00:20 GMT29
The local hobby store owner was telling me yesterday about an airplane
that he is building.  It is a 40 sized electric powered plane which he
claims should be able to fly for 45 minutes because of the new lithium
batteries that he is going to put in it.  This is very interesting, ...
Good beginner model for my dad!27 Sep 2003 23:47 GMT6
Well now my dad's at it, he'd like to get into the hobby himself and makes a
few stipulations, I hope some of you can make recommendations..
* It needs to be IC-powered (i'm guessing somewhere around a 40, personally
I didn't train on IC so i'm not sure)
Stuff oozing out of pack?27 Sep 2003 23:32 GMT4
I have a 7 cell nicad pack made up of Sanyo N-350mah AAC cells.  I removed
the shrink wrap to find the inside of the shrinkwrap to be covered with a
light brown oily residue.  It was easily wiped up, but I was wondering if
this is acid leaking out of the cells?  It doesn't look like ...
regulator question27 Sep 2003 23:29 GMT13
Seems 6v packs and regulators have become popular to the point of almost
being mandatory for anything but trainer models....maybe them too?
I'm curious as to the point of these.  Isn't a regulator is just another
item in the string (Switch harness, connectors, etc) that could ...

I have been refurbishing  a crashed biplane (I think its a Pitts) and I
have a terrible balance problem.  It weighs about 20 pounds, has
approximately 1500 square inches of wing area and is powered by a G38.
My question is How much weight can I add to the nose for balance and
