Futaba 148 - 3001 servo questions12 Dec 2003 06:17 GMT5
Recently at our club we have been having some discussions about the
appropriate Futaba servo type to use in out 40 - 53 size models either
a 148 or 3001. Some folks swear by the 148 others the 3001.
I've looked at the spec for Futaba 148 and 3001 servers both seem to
Quietest engine?12 Dec 2003 04:10 GMT19
I hear that RCV four strokes are the quietest. Is this true? I am also
interested in any 2stroke/muffler combos that are relatively quiet.
The quietest 4 stroker I had was an OS 91 with a 14x9 prop, probably
because the prop turned at a relatively low rpm.

Expensive Jet Engines - Why?11 Dec 2003 02:02 GMT14
I've been following the thread about "cheap turbines".  My question is
"why are turbines so expensive".  When you look at the components,
they seem simpler in some respects to gas/glow.  Is it simply because
they are relatively new and none of the big engine companies (eg, OS,
Great Planes Cub 60 into an L-4 "Grasshopper"11 Dec 2003 01:58 GMT2
Other than the colors, and the obvious differences in the windows, and turtle

I want something other than the typical "yellow" cub.
How bout some three view pics on the L-4, I can't find any really good pics

Zagi: What the heck is spackling?11 Dec 2003 00:00 GMT45
I'm building an electric Zagi and most of the online building guides and
tips recommend applying SPACKLING to the wings before covering.
I've never heard of this before.  Is it an American term?  What is it in UK
and is it worth doing?

Anybody know which 4 stroke in the .50+ size is the shortest? From the face

Beginner questions on radio gear.10 Dec 2003 10:47 GMT12
When it comes to a TX and related RX and servos, what would you recommend as
a good brand?
I realise most brands are arguably just as good as the next but.........
I'm looking at buying something with a min of 5 channels new or second hand.
Sky Surfer upgrades10 Dec 2003 07:36 GMT4
I put a 370 size motor in mine and run a lithium poly pack. It will almost
loop when you apply full power. I also replaced the radio gear with 72mhz
equipment.
What a difference.
