Nitro?  Whaddaya mean?18 Jan 2004 19:07 GMT104
I've noticed of late that media types seem convinced that we ought to
refer to methanol-burning internal combustion engines as "nitro"
engines.  A recent thread posted by someone who came here from R/C cars
uses this term, and it somehow doesn't sit well with me.  Am I being
donations to AMA in memory of deceased18 Jan 2004 16:23 GMT1
One of our members recently passed away.  We wanted to do something in his
memory but when we contacted the AMA they won't acknowledge reciept of any
donations to the family in whose name it was donated.  Guess they don't want a
$100.00 donation.  Go figure.  I have sent a note to ...

I have discovered an old 049 cox engine amongst my stuff and I am looking
for a bit of info.
So far, I have managed to get it to fire, but not run if I take off the
glow-head and put 3-4 drops of fuel directly into the engine.  It is not

Trim Tab set-up18 Jan 2004 03:57 GMT5
I am in the process of building a plane and want to incorporate trim tabs on
the elevator. I have built the elevator and tabs and am looking at help with
the set-up. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a set-up that
worked and could relate that to me.
Infomercial: AMA Special...18 Jan 2004 00:19 GMT1
I often include my website in my sig line here, and I've recently gotten
several inquiries about my vinyl lettering package known as the "AMA
Special".
The questions I get also indicate to me that a LOT of modelers are not aware

How to, Scale looking stitching?17 Jan 2004 23:26 GMT4

Solartex covered plane, the plane has an undercambered wing and he is not

High wing vs. Low wing17 Jan 2004 22:55 GMT3
I would like to know what the diffence is between flying a High Wing A/C vs
a Low Wing A/C.  I notice all the trainers are High wing models and most of
the warbirds and aerobatic planes are low wing.
Also, with that in mind, what are the handling characteristics of a
ID aircraft please.17 Jan 2004 21:23 GMT5
Bought a secondhand machine today. Previous owner isn't sure what it's
called. It is a biplane with both wings directly attached to the fuselage -
it actually slots into the fuselage. In front of the top wing is the pilot.
Taildragger as well.
Intro for my son.17 Jan 2004 19:37 GMT1
I used to build, fly,and crash, ( mostly crash) RC planes years ago, living
in other states. I now have a six year old son and would like to know where
I can take him in LV and see flyers in action. He's a tinkerer like his dad,
and I can foresee us enjoying this great hobby ...
using a 2 cell LiPo for Rx batt?17 Jan 2004 19:18 GMT3
This thing peak charges to 8.4 by my Triton.  How would I use this as
the Rx batt for my glow planes?
I stepped off into Electric flight with a Superfly and a SuperFlea powered
by LiPo.  I never thought I'd enjoy electric flight but these planes are
Solartex or 21st Century fabric?????17 Jan 2004 05:11 GMT10
I'm ready to cover my 1/4 Super Cub and want to use fabric.
Another club member recently finished a 1/3 plane with Solartex, and
said it was very easy to work with.  It also costs less then 21st
fabric.  However, matching paint is not offered (that I could find),
