Protocol on a mid-air?12 Jan 2004 03:54 GMT100
At the field today a guy flying a Quickie 500 plane (at what, 100+ mph?)
plowed into a Funtana, pretty much destroying both planes.  What's the
normal protocol on something like that - does the Quickie pilot pay for the
other guy's plane, or is it just an accepted risk of flying?
Pattern vs. Aerobatic12 Jan 2004 03:51 GMT22
What is the difference between a pattern plane and an aerobatic plane?  (No
that's not a setup for a joke, but feel free to add a punch line if it is
germaine.)
K&B .45 doesn't need pressure tap???12 Jan 2004 02:53 GMT13
I have a new, in the box, K&B .45 that I traded another engine for.
In the instructions, it mentions that the fuel tank should be vented
to the atmosphere - although a pressure tap is included in the box,
just needs to be drilled and tapped.
RC Bird12 Jan 2004 01:37 GMT9

I have downloaded the FMS simulator and it works OK - but is too

Built up a connection thingy for my JR 8310 - it consists of a resistor
and zenor diode - connects the JR buddy port to the parralel port of a

Beagle 2 status 311 Jan 2004 21:43 GMT59
Things aren't looking good for the ESA... That's too bad. I was really
looking forward to the pics and data... I know how they feel, I've had days
like that out at the field...

Minicraft Power Tools11 Jan 2004 12:49 GMT3
Does anyone know where I can get these?
I have a Mincraft 12V drill and I'm impressed with it, so I'm looking to buy
their bench saw and mini jigsaw (useful for scratch building), but I can't
find them anywhere.

Just for a laugh10 Jan 2004 22:59 GMT2
Read these on a local aviation ng today. Thought you may enjoy the fun also:
A "SR71" Blackbird was crossing the control-zone of London Control. It
seems that the controller didn't know the service ceiling of this
aircraft (around 30.000 meters (not feet!!)):
Rubber cutting10 Jan 2004 21:11 GMT1
Someone out there has a simple device for accurately cutting rubber strips
for rubber powered aircraft.
For some reason, 1/8 sq has disappeared off the market here in S.Oz. Can
get bigger sections, hence a good accurate cutter is needed.
GREAT last day flying10 Jan 2004 17:00 GMT7
It was a great flying day for the last day of the year.
