Which resin?23 Apr 2004 23:38 GMT3
Just acquired a glass fibre glider whih I need to repair the fuz of.  Adding
the glass is no worry, but I just want to be sure of compatability.
The fuselage is glass fibre as stated, but has absolutely NO smell.  i.e.,
none of the usual fibre glass pong.  Does this suggest I can't ...

run reliably at full throttle. I though the problem was an undersized fuel
line in the gas tank to th eclunk. Relaced it today along with all the fuel
lines, no difference...It idles fine, goes to about ...

hairline crack in engine crankcase23 Apr 2004 05:09 GMT9
I got an old OS 120 Surpass pumped engine from a local swap meet recently,
and I noticed a very faint hairline  crack between the rear cover to the
the rear engine mounting hole. The crack is very faint, appearing more like
a surface scratch than a crack.

G-23 Prop revisited23 Apr 2004 03:05 GMT7
Ok, guys, I appreciate your suggestions on prop selection.  Really.  :)  A lot
of you responded with your favorite recommendations.
What I learned today was on a 13 3/4-pound, 72" Dr.1 even largest recommended
size (18-8) doesn't do crap.  I'd have hated to try to fly it with some ...
Home made starter22 Apr 2004 23:53 GMT11
I have a big problem starting my ST2500 every darned time...my starter sucks
amps but won't cut the mustard.
I am starting to think about modifying a small car starter motor to do the
job, but in the thinking process I wondered why I should bother with a cone
American ply wanted22 Apr 2004 23:10 GMT4
As some is missing from an "Enforcer" kit iv bought from the states. It says
that the size is 1/8" but on measuring with a mic it comes out at 2.7mm.
When i  checked at a local model shop the 1/8" they had came out at 3.5mm
and the other sizes were not near enough except the 2mm ...
Plan For Engine Break-In Stand?22 Apr 2004 20:17 GMT20
Anybody have (or know about) a nice design for a permanently mounted
engine break-in stand? We want to put one at our field, away from the
flight line. This way an engine can be run for a time without driving
the people in the pits out. I have a nice J'tec aluminum clamp I could

Micro Rx on 35 Mhz - good results22 Apr 2004 19:40 GMT2
Some time ago I asked the group about micro receivers on 35 MHz
I bought a Schulze 8 channel Rx - but still very small - at UK
£42.50 and it seems to work very well with standard Futaba single
conversion Xtals
