Engine won't start after sitting for three years14 Jun 2004 04:42 GMT5
I have a Thunder Tiger Pro .46 engine and about three years ago I
broke in the engine and it ran perfect, started after about four kicks
of the chicken stick.  Anyhow, I let my model sit that time and when I
tried to start it this time it took about 20 min. of fiddling before I
GWS Tiger Moth14 Jun 2004 00:53 GMT1
Need some advice .. I am building a new GWS Tiger Moth and making the
TM 350 mods. The instructions are a bit vague on the aileron size. One
photo looks like the have cut ailerons up to about the middle of the

NexStar on floats13 Jun 2004 20:34 GMT1
I finally have the NexStar on floats.  It flew off of water today for the
first time.  It was really great.  It lands beautifully.  I really like
float flying...it's even easier to land.  I'll post in air action later.

In what area would you favour a 4 stroke over a 2 stroke engine?  What is
the size comparison with regards 2 stroke to 4 stroke, for example a .40 2

broken prop13 Jun 2004 11:48 GMT2
Hello Aerobats,
I recently entered the model aeroplane arena and got a rather cheap (but
incredibly fun) RC aeroplane. The plane can only be described as 'starter'
quality and after several flights I suffered a broken plastic propeller.

Are there any freeware flight training programs? I'm considering starting
this hobby up but I want to practice on the computer first. I found
"Pre-Flight" but it's horrible... I'm hardly able to use it.

Prop thrust and pitch12 Jun 2004 22:44 GMT8
I have  a new AXi 2212/34 motor swinging a 12/8 APC E prop. It gave a
static thrust of about 18 ounce (fish scale, not very accurate) for a
14 ounce plane.
Would a lower piched prop, same diameter, say a 12/6 give more static
