| OS120 4 Stroke advice needed | 24 Jun 2004 06:42 GMT | 6 |
I have just completed my quarter scale Cub from the Mike Smart plan and have installed an OS 120 4 stroke (think it's the original Mk 1). Everything ready to go but can I get the engine to run without the glow attached? No I can't.

| R/C car motors vs. "airplane " motors.....any difference???? | 24 Jun 2004 05:10 GMT | 4 |
Sometimes I think I got in the wrong hobby.....I should have done R/C electric cars or nitro. I say this because I CANNOT FIND ONE DAMM SPEED 400 MOTOR AT MY LOCAL HOBBY SHOPS UNLESS I ORDER ONLINE. EVEN THAT ORDER CAN GET BACK ORDERED........plenty of R/C car motors!!!

| NOOBIE ADVICE PLEASE!!! | 23 Jun 2004 23:44 GMT | 13 |
So, I've been into radio controlled stuff for years, but never planes. I have know friends that were into planes though. I'm also an avid amature carpenter and electrician (amps, small circuites, bookcases, chairs, etc...) So I think I'm well suited to this hobby.

| OS40FS prop size? | 23 Jun 2004 22:01 GMT | 5 |
I'm considering using an OS40FS in a fun fly type plane, and wonder what sort of performance I might get out of an APC 12.25 x 3.75 wide blade prop. Anybody try this and have some RPM figures? I'd probably use 5% nitro fuel. Thanks,

I can't resist it any longer, so I'm looking for recommendations for a Spitfire with retracts in the 66" to 72" wingspan range. I can find various examples out there so I'm specifically requesting recommendation from personal experience if you would be so kind.

| electronic ignition | 23 Jun 2004 12:45 GMT | 14 |
Though not necessarily specific to an aircraft engine, I've run across some information concerning an after-market ignition system for Zenoah engines that has me a bit baffled. It may very well just be that my comprehension of the subject is more limited than I already thought.

| Filling Fibreglass Cowlings | 23 Jun 2004 12:11 GMT | 2 |
I'm just doing my first fibreglass cowling. Did all the cut outs neatly and rubbed it down with some fine wet and dry. I then gave it a few coats of car primer and have noticed that the cowling has lots of small divots and imperfections.
