Is warped stab affecting my flight?19 Aug 2004 15:47 GMT3
Good Morning.  I have been pondering over a situation involving my
Global Right Flyer, which features a covered, flat-rib stabilizer.  Last
Sunday, under somewhat gusty wind conditions, I had a tough time
controlling the plane.  I had to constantly give it Up Elevator and
alienator and speed 60019 Aug 2004 15:08 GMT3
have "acquired" a boxed, new alienator (ripmax). I already have a Permax
600 (7.2v) motor.
As the recommended motor size is a 600, I am assuming that this maybe refers
to the "standard" graupner style 600 can, and I think this is maybe a

Updating Goldberg Electra motor and batteries?18 Aug 2004 19:55 GMT4
I have one of the early Goldberg Electra sailplanes.  After sitting
unfinished in the basement for about 15 years I have finally decided to try
to finish it out, and need to update the electrics.
It has the original "05" type direct drive motor and was meant to be powered
Source for rounded-tip spinner?18 Aug 2004 17:07 GMT6
I'm after a 2 1/2 inch spinner for a ME109G that I am putting
together. Rather than use a commonplace 'pointy' spinner, I'm after
one with a more scale 'rounded' end. Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Hitec Focus 6 receiver question18 Aug 2004 10:42 GMT11
Just picked up a 2nd hand Focus 6 FM (tx only) (Australian model-36Mhz).
Seller quoted condition as "good but servo's jittered if transmitter left in
sun". As I'm considering using it for indoor, I didn't really care. Added
new Antenna, new battery, new 'dual conversion' crystal and ...
Cleaning Clogged CA Glue Dispensers17 Aug 2004 23:46 GMT2
Clogged tips and tubing can be cleared after soaking in Acetone.  Usually
overnight is adequate time. Use a syringe to blow out and the same tips can
be reused indefinetly.
Building Safer LiIon Batteries17 Aug 2004 22:46 GMT5
It appears that there is some interesting work going on with LiIon
Iron Phosphate.  There is no breakdown or oxygen liberation until the
material hits 800 degrees Celcius.  The main advantage is a resistance
to thermal runaway even under high discharge rates.  It can be used ...
Fixing blind nut17 Aug 2004 13:40 GMT1
Thanks again to all who responded to my loose blind nut post.  Special
thanks to John Bonnet who suggested cleaning the blind nut threads with a
tap.  I'm a pack rat, and I save every bit of hardware I can from planes
that have made unexpected landings.  The blind nuts were from one ...

Sig 1/6 cub17 Aug 2004 02:51 GMT1
During the last two months or so, I have asked for help on the Sig cub and
the engine required, plus a few other things.
Well I have finished it and it flyes very nicely. I used the Saito 40 four
stroke, which I installed inverted, and it works just fine.

What the heck is SAM I wondered.
A bit of research revealed it is....
