What is the difference between a 370 and a 480 motor?  Or even the various

What does the gear ratio mean?  Like a 3.67:1 (370) and 2.50:1 (480).
what is the difference between a 4G/4D/6D motor?

Brownie Points time?30 Nov 2004 20:52 GMT6
Having just recovered from "I was out shopping with my mother and we saw
.......... a suite on sale for £1800 !!!" How many brownie points would I
gain if I agreed to the purchase. Would the decorating go on hold for at
least another year ? Could I brazenly purchase that Dave ...
What a Thrill30 Nov 2004 18:17 GMT13
We are having discussions in our club ay present about whether or not to
allow jet turbines to fly at our club field. We are in a reasonably noise
sensitive area even though (touch wood) we haven't had any noise complaints
over the past few years
6.0 vs 4.8 volts30 Nov 2004 15:53 GMT11
The news group seem a bit slow so I thought I would bring up another
question topic. I was looking at servos the other day and noticed that they
list two speeds for 6 and 4.8 volts. For seem reason this has never come to
my attention before, I usually just buy a radio and use the ...
APC 14x7 prop - max bore size30 Nov 2004 10:01 GMT4
I have an old OS90 fourstroke, which has a relatively short
crankshaft thread.
I am thinking of making up a sleeve nut with a 5/16 UNF thread
inside, and an 11 millimetre outside diameter.

I just purchased a GMS .61 ringed engine for that old P-40 I'm
building. I'd like to use an in-cowl muffler, but Hobbico (the
distributor of everything, it seems) tells me that no headers are made
for this particular engine, nor have I been able to find one. My plan
Cirrus Controller, Can't be used?29 Nov 2004 16:56 GMT2
I have inherited a older Cirrus Radio and such.  It was mentioned to me that
the Cirrus radio could not be used anymore because of the allowed
frequencies have changed by law or something like that.  Does anyone care to
confirm or elaborate?
Pitts LG29 Nov 2004 16:47 GMT18
I recently was given an ARF Pitts special that someone ordered from Tower.
While going over it with a fine tooth comb looking for ways to make it
better and measure up to MY standards, I discovered something odd.
The landing gear was only 5/32!  That is just not good enough as it ...

PreFlight Tx question28 Nov 2004 20:07 GMT1
Just got a copy of Pre Flight which works through the MIC input of the
sound card. Very good too.
Tested on both a 6EXA and a 7CAP. My question is -- can I run the Tx
with the Xtal out so I'm not actually transmitting anything or will
F Cell 8ah28 Nov 2004 19:50 GMT4
I just got a new 8ah Ni-Cad F cell to repair my golf trolley battery, I
think they are made by Yuasa.
I trickle charged c/10 it for 20 hrs as normal as you do, then
discharged it with the Supernova and it only put out 4ah, discharging at
