Hi,  I am new to model aircraft and am building my first ARTF (Ripmax
Trainer 40).  I have a new OS LA0046 engine and it says before flying to run
a tank of fuel through it with the mixture on the rich side, and when flying
to make sure it is not running lean.  Could anyone ...
Variable pitch propeller17 Jan 2005 17:21 GMT13
Does anyone know about variable pitch propellers for air propulsion?
I know such propellers exist for boats but shovel water....
I want to use that on a hovercraft, so negative thrust is also welcome.

I ordered some spare parts for my F-27 Stryker from

Stick/Paper16 Jan 2005 20:37 GMT8
Is this a good newsgroup to ask this in?  Can't seem to find one sure to
be on topic but I am hoping many here will be able to help.
I like to build balsa/tissue models.  I have been doing it for a pretty
long time.  I have learned to use white glue (Elmer's) for everything
Solar Cells And Electric Motors16 Jan 2005 17:21 GMT20
Has anyone experimented with using solar cells on electric R/C planes
either in running the motors or in recharging the batteries while in
flight?

removing micro plugs16 Jan 2005 16:37 GMT6
Does anybody have an easy way of removing micro-servo plugs from a
micro receiver without destroying them?  I've ruined two just trying
to get them out?!?!  New to the list and maybe been discussed before
but can't find anything about it in the archive.
For P-51 and P-47 Enthusiasts16 Jan 2005 10:01 GMT1
My son-in-law, Phil, is an avid model builder and WWII addict. Some
years ago, he embarked on a lengthy project, where he created
approximately 160 computer illustrations of P-47
Thunderbolts/Razorbacks and North American P-51 Mustangs. His original

How to plane get out of a tree?16 Jan 2005 02:20 GMT65
What's the best way to get an airplane out of a tree?
My plane is about 50 to 60 feet up in a huge ficus tree. I can see the tail
section sticking out of the leaves. If someone were to climb it, I don't
believe that they can reach it.
Wire trace for closed loops16 Jan 2005 01:01 GMT5
I am after some plastic coated soft wire to make up some heavy duty closed
loops and remember seeing it sold from bulk reels at one of the shows.
Anyone know of a supplier?
Dont want the bog standard stuff pre-packed at the model shops.
Warped Foam Wing15 Jan 2005 22:48 GMT7
I've got a new GWS Tiger Moth foamie, and the right upper wing is warped.
How in the wide wide world of sports do I eliminate this warp, which amounts
to 1/8" - 1/4" of wash-in, which I'm sure is enough to be meaningful..
Thanks in advance.
