Kavan Variable Pitch Propeller28 Mar 2005 05:11 GMT2
I would like to hear from anyone who has a Kavan Variable Pitch Propeller. I
don't necessarily want to buy one (though if they want to sell it then I
might) I just would like to get a general description and find out about the
operation of it.

Plans or kit for 1/4 scale Piper Cub27 Mar 2005 22:29 GMT5
I have spent a fruitless hour or more searching for 1/4 scale plans or kits
for a Cub or Super Cub.  I thought that Great Planes and SIG or even Hangar
9 did a 1/4 scale kit but though i can find some of these on U.S. sites the
size prevents them from being sent to the UK.  Does ...
Pinking shears27 Mar 2005 21:41 GMT2
I am building a 1/5 scale model of a Piper Colt.  I am planning to cover
using Dacron material and paint with dope to match my father's full-scale
plane.  I am looking for some pinking shears that will be at least
semi-scale for doing the covering... Any sources for scale pinking ...

Let me know if I'm smoking dope here.

IMAA's Marez on parallel battery systems27 Mar 2005 02:53 GMT6
Eloy Marez writes in High Flight, Spring 2005
"ON THE SAME SUBJECT, somewhat anyway, is the use of a backup battery
system. I know it is commonly thought and done that the best (read:
cheapest!) way is simply to plug another battery into an unused servo socket
Flaperon help with JR XF42126 Mar 2005 20:23 GMT5
I've got a hotliner sailplane I'm getting ready to put in the air.
Another club member had one like this and said it was hard to get it
on the ground.  So, I thought to myself - I'll use the flaperon mix
available in my XF421 TX to help with that problem.

Don't even have the maker of it but it's called a Doubler. Has no rudder
but two fins on each end of the stab. Does anyone have the correct CG
location. thanx
J3 Balsa USA -motors & flaps?26 Mar 2005 15:38 GMT2
Following up information derived here and having contacted Pegasus Models,
they do what sounds like a very nice Balsa USA kit for £169.  They say that
this kit outsells other brands that they do.  Has anyone built this and if
so, which 4 stroke motor did you use?  Has anyone ...
Homelite 25cc porting26 Mar 2005 15:31 GMT9
Can anyone recommend a good (working) link that shows how to port a Homelite
25cc engine for more power. This will be going into an aircraft and I
believe the porting will make a significant difference to power output.

Battery for Super Sportster EP26 Mar 2005 02:45 GMT4
A fellow modeler in my club has the 48" version and is looking for a LiPo or
NiMh pack to replace the stock 7-cell 2100 mAh pack.  He's not interested in
burning up the sky but just wants something that will give him pretty good
duration and a modest improvement in performance.  ...
