Help choosing an RC plane for launching micro gliders06 Apr 2005 15:01 GMT1
I am a student in Univ of California, Berkeley and we are making tiny
(approx 2gm) gliders (called "micro-gliders") with a wing span of about
12cm and a length of about 10cm.
We are at the stage when we want to launch these micro gliders from a

Futaba, Phillips NE5044 Chips06 Apr 2005 13:52 GMT6
Can someone please confirm or deny the use of Phillips chips # NE5044 and
NE5045 in the Conquest radios??  Is the Signetics # CD8081 a direct
replacement?  Anyone aware of a source for these new or what radios they can
be pulled from?

AMA DVD "second notice"06 Apr 2005 05:50 GMT11
Apparently now AMA (or whoever is doing it for them) is mailing out
"second notices" where they remind us to either pay the money or return
the disk. There's no mention of the fact that we can keep these
unsolicited disks as a free gift this time (unless I missed it, which

SpaceWalker 40 and Tip Stalls05 Apr 2005 21:21 GMT8
A friend of mine recently built a Spacewalker and is having serious problmes
with what I think are tip stalls. It flies great until he turns into his
final apporach and decreases throttle. As soon as speed slacks off the left
wing drops and the plane starts to nose over to the ...

Cub for L-4 version05 Apr 2005 04:58 GMT7
I've always wanted to build  a Cub as an L-4 Grasshopper.  I have two
4-strokes sitting around, a Saito 50 and an Enya 46, which I would assume
would be fine for a .40 size Cub.  Which one, Sig, Goldberg, Top Flite,
Great Planes, or something else?

Electric starter power05 Apr 2005 01:37 GMT16
I've often wondered about the comments about the seeming lack of power
for various starters for turning over larger engines, such as 90's and
120's.
Now I know first-hand why the comments.

Aeroshark04 Apr 2005 00:43 GMT3
I have an Aeroshark from the Chinese Green Models. Nice looking with flowing
lines and flies great. I have seen though that it behaves strange when
flying full throttle into moderate winds. It suddenly deviates vertical up
or down with a feet or so. Upon reducing throttle this ...

There are several windmills on this site, although they are spaced
out over a very big area.
The intention is slope soaring and the site is good for several
