Calculating "thrust" of an engine09 May 2005 15:16 GMT13
I've been reading a lot about the thrust of different glow engines
recently and I'm trying to figure out how it is calculated.  I see
mention of an engine having more thrust than the weight of the plane
for example.  If you know the prop diameter, pitch, and rpm can you
Johnsons Klear08 May 2005 23:59 GMT1
Anyone know of this stuff is fuel proof...???
It gives a very nice finish having seen it on some models but not on R/C
one's so far.
On the instructions on the bottle, you need ammonia to remove it, so just
nuvver Hype question08 May 2005 23:57 GMT4
As iv no instructions i also need to know the distance from the prop
thrust washer to the firewall as the nose cowl seems to go on very tight
and just gets tighter so it could be over an inch out and hence so could
the engine.
Question on Electric motor sizes08 May 2005 20:55 GMT3
I've seen numbers attached to motors, as in a "400 motor".  What does this
mean?  I've also heard that the same motor may be called a 400 or a 370
depending on who's doing the calling?  Is there a standard?
Thanks.

I am thinking of getting  Decathlon .40 ARF by SEAGULL from Horizon and
was wondering if anyone can speak to the quality of the Seagull kits.  I
plan on making a night flyer out of this plane so i will be doing some
modification to put lights in the wing and fuselage.  I can't ...
GWS Beaver08 May 2005 13:21 GMT3
In anticipation of the summer I got my hands on a GWS Beaver but before I
head off and fly, I wanted to apply some of the mods recommended over the
past year for the plane.
Unfortunately I can't seem to find the page I was looking for (it had about
Newbie question about controls08 May 2005 05:49 GMT9
I just received my first RTF trainer, and I think the rudder control may be
reversed.
When I move the rudder control stick to the right, the rudder moves to the
port side (left).
Wolff-Pak Kits08 May 2005 05:30 GMT3
I am looking for some of the old Wollf-Pak kits.  A couple of the
early ones, such as the Toad and the Tadpole are some that I am
especially interested in...plus later kits made by them as well.
Too bad Ebay doesn't have a Want Ad section....oh, well...this site
Best place to sell airplanes?07 May 2005 23:44 GMT4
Getting out of gas and into electrics, never did solo anyway.  Never wanted
to wreck what took me that long to build.  Anyway, other than offering to
the local clubs, what's the best way of selling airplanes?  I sure would not
want to ship the things....one of them is a Reliant ...

suggestions, comments and discussion around the following requirements:
ARTF - I don't want to spend a long time building or covering, I want
to be flying!
Stolen models07 May 2005 10:00 GMT2
Someone (or someones) recently broke into my property and stole 3 model
helicopters overnight of 1/2nd May..
They are quite easily identifiable by me, but 3 in a bunch should hopefully
ring some alarm bells.
