bits and bobs.
Todays venture into town netted me... 300 cable ties in 5 different
sizes. A metre of velcro.. thats a metre of both hook and loop.
Digital RC Servo Jitter24 Jun 2005 18:15 GMT1
I'm working on building a low-cost precision 3 axis stage actuated by
small digital RC servos. It seems that the digital servos I'm using (JR
DS368's) don't run smoothly between steps. Even when I drive them with
a 32 bit PWM controller, the motion appears choppy, and this ...

Nitro fuel lines: when to replace them?24 Jun 2005 14:27 GMT2
Good Evening.  I had a rather rough time at my field this afternoon,
with two flame-outs on my trusty OS .61 SF.  The engine is in a
Hobbistar, which has been my primary plane since last September.  The
first time the engine flamed out, I ended up gliding the plane into a

Northeast Engineering Power Panel24 Jun 2005 13:51 GMT1
I thought I sent this once, but it did not show up, so here it is
again... Some years ago at the Toledo Show before it moved to the
present location, there was a fellow who showed in the flea market who
sold kits and built up Power Panels.  I think the name was Northeast

BMFA 'C' Test23 Jun 2005 22:59 GMT16
Ive just read the schedule for this new test which is expected to be
introduced for the end of this year, to my eye it seems to be much more
a test of precision aerobatics than of anything else.
In my judgement I could pass it but not before shedloads of precision
Northeast Engineering Power Panel23 Jun 2005 20:14 GMT1
I think I have tried to post this a couple of times and somehow it
never seems to get through...maybe this time.
Back when Toledo R/c Show as at the old arena site, there was a fellow
from the North East in the flea market who offered a very good power
Power Supply from Laptop for Lipo charger23 Jun 2005 18:18 GMT10
I have an Electrifly PolyCharge charger for my batteries.  It takes
11-15VDC input and I have only used it once (using my car battery).  I
came across an old laptop power supply at work and decided to tinker
with it tonight.  It outputs 16VDC (measured to be 16.45VDC) but I
ST 2500 Engine ?23 Jun 2005 14:40 GMT2
Hey Gang: I just purchased the 1/4 scale Ryan PT-22 from Ikon N'West
They recommend using a "ST 2500" engine. Never heard of this engine, is it
still made ? 2 or 4 stroke, Gas ?
What would be comparable in size and power:  any suggestions
My Slow Stick.23 Jun 2005 01:23 GMT3
Okay this was my first attempt at building anything.  I have a list of
lessons learned and all future aircraft shall be of much better
quality and layout.  Anyway....here it is:

how to un-epoxy something22 Jun 2005 23:56 GMT6
I need to take the vertical stab off one plane and put it on another.
Any suggestions on how to get it off while minimizing the damage to the
stab (most important) and the fuse (less important?  I figure I'll have
to hack at it with an exacto knife but I was hoping someone here ...
