| Digital voltmeter | 24 Jul 2005 22:12 GMT | 2 |
This subject may have been covered on the newsgroup before - but has anyone else encountered an NiMH battery that reads (4 cells) 5.4 volts on the digital meter but will produce no appreciable current? Will not stir the needle on the old analog meter.

| Disillusioned | 24 Jul 2005 16:01 GMT | 13 |
After many years thinking about it, I finally decided to build an RC model (a Great Planes Electricub). Following advice I have seen just about everywhere, I contacted the secretaries of three local clubs by email to ask about joining the club and training to learn how to fly this ...

| 2nd plane dilemma | 22 Jul 2005 23:10 GMT | 1 |
The dilemma... What makes any plane more difficult to fly than another? I know it's taboo to get into warbirds as a 2nd plane, but would a sport model with a fairly light wing loading be possible? What about Realflight? I can

| The "Throw Away Society" | 22 Jul 2005 12:48 GMT | 7 |
I've just learned that it costs a minimum of £40 to have some R/C gear serviced. My local model shop has a Futaba 6EXA transmitter for £55. It looks as though I've joined the "Throw Away Society" at last.

| Taildragger Avistar | 21 Jul 2005 14:58 GMT | 3 |
For what it's worth, this year I finished my 40 size Avistar conversion, and have been flying it the past 2 months. More of a challenge to take off and land, but a lot of fun. Here's what I did to convert it:

| Great Planes Spacewalker ARF | 21 Jul 2005 14:52 GMT | 1 |
Thinking about this ARF for my second plane, however I see that Tower Hobbies has discontinued it. Anyone have an idea why they would discontinue this model? Looking at the archives, it seems to be a popular 2nd plane...

Goedendag ;-) ... More info from Ralp Okon ... I think, you should better calculate with ca. 4 per mm, because of the needed insulation between the plates. in summery 40 up to 45 per cm I think.
