| Frustrated Newbie | 20 Jul 2005 16:37 GMT | 15 |
I feel the need to blow off some steam since I am frustrated over my new project that is now collecting dust. I recently purchased a Slow Stick starter set that included the GWS 4 channel radio. I bought this because of the good reviews on the plane for beginners and the fact

| Sportsman Aviation Waco 60 | 20 Jul 2005 15:12 GMT | 2 |
Saw one of these in my LHS and fell in love. Always thought Wacos were cool. Anybody built this one? There's a thread on RCU that says the gear isn't very strong and is prone to tearing off and bending.

| A Question about Thread Locker! | 20 Jul 2005 06:51 GMT | 4 |
I recently bought some Great Planes thread locker. It's the blue stuff, and it says on the bottle removable. I hope that is the case. On my OS Max LA 40, a wonderful reliable economical little engine, the back plate the needle valve is mounted on kept coming loose until I

| Best alcohol for thinning epoxy? | 20 Jul 2005 03:42 GMT | 38 |
I need to slightly thin some 30 minute epoxy to make glassing a wing center section easier. I know that the high water content of isopropyl tends to weaken the epoxy, so which would be best? Denatured ( ethyl with methanol added ) or straight methanol?

| RIAT: ScanEagle - Was It A First? | 19 Jul 2005 16:09 GMT | 3 |
Spent a very enjoyable day at the Royal International Air Tatoo yesterday. One of the displays was by a Boeing ScanEagle UAV. This was claimed at the show and in the press as the first ever display by a pilotless aircraft at a public event in Europe. I beg to differ, I've seen ...

| Looking for linear servos | 19 Jul 2005 13:46 GMT | 9 |
Hi gang: Back in the 70s we had these and a lot were used for cars on the steering. After many years in the UK trying to get hold of some it seems a tad difficult to even get any one interested in throwing some hope my way. What iv found is not much use at all and very expensive

| Drilling balsa - Great Godfrey! | 18 Jul 2005 23:08 GMT | 27 |
Building Telemaster 40. Step 1. ...drill a hole in each rib for the servo wires...must be 3/8" to allow connectors to pass thru...place ribs in stacks of 8... I drilled and the top rib of the stack split. I think I can glue it back

| V 1 flying bomb | 18 Jul 2005 22:28 GMT | 2 |
The doodlebug appears to have no ailerons, yet it has no dihedral either. Anyone have a reasonable answer for it's stability on pitch and yaw control only? They certainly flew hundreds of miles (well, maybe nearly 200). I'm surprised that turbulence alone didn't put them down.

| Is the 480 motor powerfull enough? | 18 Jul 2005 22:16 GMT | 13 |
We are about to start a combat wing at our club with the emphasis on economy.I have sourced an epp electric jet (very similar to the the Stryker in all respects)and I was wondering if the 480 motor would have enough grunt if coupled to a 35A ESC and a 8,4V 1100mAh nimh battery

Can anyone help me with locating the man or men who were the Bauer Model Aircraft Co of Howell Michigan back twenty five years or so ago? They made a kit of all spruce, birch and plywood called the Hardwoody. I'd like to find one of those kits..or the plans...or the people who

| Tiny servos | 18 Jul 2005 08:27 GMT | 3 |
A while back, I mentioned that I had purchased a U-Can-Do electric foam model plane. I had commented that I wasn't going to buy special servos for it, thinking that my five or so year old Hitec HS-80's would be small enough. I was wrong. Those things are gigantic compared to what ...
