12V charger needed09 Jul 2005 05:12 GMT10
I'd like to leave the plane overnight in the car (lazy, aren't I!) and
have the receiver batt charge from the cigar lighter connection.
The receiver batt is only a 4-cell nicad - 500ma, 4.8V.
I'd like the charger to either turn itself off or go to trickle charge

Just say a guy was thinking of going to the Nats for a couple of days.
Which 2 days would be best? Never been before so don't know what the
form is.
I would like to get a flavour of all the different flying disciplines
April 2001 RCM Workbench article wanted08 Jul 2005 20:56 GMT2
Does anyone have the April 2001 edition of "R/C Modeler" magazine? A
scan of the workbench construction article would be greatly
appreciated. It's basically a floating top design that uses a series
of leveling bolts to achieve a flat surface. A slightly revised

Taildragger Conversion07 Jul 2005 23:56 GMT7
I have a Hobbyco Superstar 40 trainer, and the nose wheel has been
taking a pounding as I have scared more than one instructor.  I'm
getting tired of rebending and replacing the nose gear.
One guy at the club suggested I convert it to a taildragger.  Does
Ultracapacitors for electric RC airplanes?07 Jul 2005 18:21 GMT8
Just curious if any company or anyone is using ultracapacitors
(sometimes called supercapacitors) for RC aircraft.
I searched around and couldn't find anything.
A 350-farad (not a typo) ultracap is light and small.  I don't think

Has anyone else had trouble registering a copy of MotoCalc software?
The b*stards have debited my credit card account for £19.73 ($35) and not

Yes I definitely sent them my correct e-mail address!

Noseleg and gunk remover06 Jul 2005 21:58 GMT3
A while ago some chap on here suggested that I use Fairy Liquid, Meths and
water combined to clean wings, the surfaces and so on, but I've forgotten
the proportions of each one. Anybody any ideas?
I also need to know how to fit a noseleg that doesn't steer; it needs to be
Futaba transmitter batteries - No Good?06 Jul 2005 21:39 GMT13
I purchased a new Field Force seven in April 2005 (about 10 weeks ago) I
have used it for a total time of just over 16 hours (from front display). I
always charge the transmitter overnight before flying (never been quick
charged) using the supplied charger.
OS Max carb stuck06 Jul 2005 21:16 GMT5
Hi there, the other day I dug a 15 year old OS Max 35FP engine out of my
shed, it was stuck up with old fuel. After much cleaning the engine is now
fine. BUT the carb rotor is stuck. The Carb is a 3A. I have removed every
screw I can see from it, but the rotor does not turn at all. ...

Wonder How Much Fuel Costs?05 Jul 2005 22:51 GMT9
I visited Wings and Wheels yesterday and that got me wondering about the
price of fuel.
I use Model Technics Bekra 10% in my helicopter.
My local model store sells this at £17.50 per gallon.
