Balancing Propeller31 Aug 2005 20:26 GMT12
I'm new to the hobby and still building my first trainer. I would really
appreciate any comments regarding methods of balancing propellers. From what
I'm reading, it appears that balance can be achieved by addition or
subtraction of weight. Do you have to buy fixture to balance a ...
O.S. .46AX Tuning31 Aug 2005 20:10 GMT4
I recently purchased a slightly used O.S. .46AX.  I installed it inverted in
a Seagull PC-9.  The centerline of the fuel tank is approximately level with
the carburetor.  I also installed a Great Planes quick refueling jack in the
feedline.  The jack is approximately 3/4" above the ...
Dissapointed in Great Planes response31 Aug 2005 19:03 GMT5
I have been trying to get a response - any response - from Great Planes on a
Real Flight Simulator disk problem.  Got the simulator from Tower Hobbies
through their website but the first disk scratched and unreadable. Tower
says I must work with Great Planes.  I have called ...

Sound barrier31 Aug 2005 17:08 GMT14
Here you will see a picture of a jet breaking the sound barrier. I am
told we are seeing water vapor due to a difference in pressure. True?
How does this come about? <http://www.portlandrcflyingclub.org/>

Solartex alternative??31 Aug 2005 12:55 GMT2
I'm looking around the workshop at a number of large models that need
covering/re-covering and painting over the winter.
Normally I would use good old solartex, but I would need quite a lot to
do this lot and it's gonna work out quite expensive at 4.50/m.
Question: Servo noise.31 Aug 2005 03:12 GMT5
Ok...so I'm starting to go insane!  I'm trying to build a 4 channel trainer.
I've got everything finished except for the rudder / front wheel servo.
Something is wrong with the rudder portion.  The servo, without anything
hooked up to it works fine. It's nice and smooth and ...

Anyone know where I might be able to get hold of a new front bearing
for a Super Custom 75 2 stroke engine please? Engine runs fine but is

In flight Cameras30 Aug 2005 09:14 GMT2
Some time ago ( actually a LONG time ago) someone showed some very nice
shots taken from a model up the North of your tiny Island :-)
Also shown was the clever mounting for the camera - that is what I
would like to see again.
Folding GWS Props?30 Aug 2005 05:06 GMT12
I've got a really neat little plane I fly, a Comet Gull with a GWS 'A'
motor/gearbox.  It should be a floater with power off but when I cut the
throttle it just about stops dead in the air.  I think it's because of
that great big prop hanging out in front.
Newbie question30 Aug 2005 03:32 GMT5
I have a simple question about electric flight: where is the fuse (or
fuse-equivalent)?
Long, long ago I learned that the purpose of a fuse (the thing that
melts when too much current goes through it, not slang for "fuselage")
More about coverings29 Aug 2005 23:59 GMT1
What is Aerokote?  I got a square yard for a $1 in the mail and have yet to
try it.  I guess I'll just test it on curves and open spaces, one yard isn't
going to do much.
Also, I'm curious about coverings for small electrics.  What is available,
