Long day17 Aug 2005 20:06 GMT14
Sun shining, no wind, powered glider fully charged up.
Left home at 11:15 and arrived on my favourite moor 20 mins later.
Spent a couple of minutes watching a merlin quartering the slope
below me.. it didn't put any birds up out of the heather.
Radio compatibility: Dual Conv TX with Single Conv Rx17 Aug 2005 18:49 GMT3
I've been putting together an indoor slow flyer with a GWS negative shift
6-channel micro receiver.  I'd been planning on simply using my Futaba 7CAP
radio with the plane as I bought a Futaba compatible receiver and servos for
the electric.
Best fun to be had with a TX - without actually taking off!!!17 Aug 2005 17:42 GMT1
I have just had a few minutes great fun "playing" with my transmitter
at home.
Hearing the sound of model engines coming from my neighbour's garden,
I glanced out of my upstairs window to spot the (Neanderthal-like)

OS.48 4 stroke plane17 Aug 2005 15:11 GMT4
Just noticed that I have an OS .48 4-stroke laying around.  What would
be a good plane to put it in?  I was thinking about  a tweaked Sig
LT-25 but wouldn't mind something a little sportier, any ideas?

Plane storage17 Aug 2005 14:58 GMT3
I have a problem I am sure many of you guys share. My wife kicked my
planes out of the house. So, I had a wood garden shed constructed of
knotty pine (15mm pine planks) roofed with corrugated steel sheets. My
concern is temperature.
Help PLEASE - Robbe Progo17 Aug 2005 11:27 GMT6
I've been asked to check over and repair a crash damaged Robbe Progo that
has been on an attic for several years. The problem, I'm a balsa and ply
man, I'm not used to these plastic thingys. Obviously I don't want to use
something that will destroy it or just peel off. What is the ...
Building new airplane17 Aug 2005 06:01 GMT4
I am rebuilding a Great Planes BLT park flyer, with an extra servo
moving the new aelerons I added. Beside the main wing, everything else
is a new and simpler design; the fuselage is a 1/2" sq stick and the
tail wings and control surfaces are thin flat sheets of balsa covered
Battery Charging times?17 Aug 2005 03:03 GMT6
Hey All...I'm new to these R/C thingies...and i have a question that you
might be able to answer for me.  I have a battery pack here says it's 9.6v
Ni-Cd.  there's 8 cells in it, but i don't know any more specifics other
than that.  It came with a charger, and it's specifics are ...
Flexing Motor Mounts17 Aug 2005 01:41 GMT4
My Lanier Stinger 60 ARF came with motor mounts that are not rigid ,
they flex slightly especially at low rpm. Once the throttle is advanced
they smooth out quite well.
I have never had a problem with them but the guys at the field think
Radio problems16 Aug 2005 21:36 GMT18
The following is an Email from a mate who has suddenly developed radio
problems when flying from a new field (about 5 miles away from the
former one) We know, in this wine growing area, many contractors use
radio communications betwee base and vehicles. Can't see how that can
First mistake16 Aug 2005 16:38 GMT10
I have never flown a model before and my young son decided he wanted
one so I went out and purchaced one (ebay) but I reckon it's a mistke.
Knowing nothing about them, this is what happened.
I paid £30 for an electric B29 bomber . It arrived, made of
Best U.K. R/C Forum ?16 Aug 2005 13:01 GMT3
What's the best U.K. R/C plane forum ? At the moment I'm hanging out at
www.rcgroups.com which is fine (well actually it seems very good), but it
would be nice to have a U.K. centric equivalent.
An electric fence problem16 Aug 2005 05:29 GMT3
A friend of mine said his model was happily flying along at a fair old gait
when it suddenly went out of control. -  Model is now in the intensive care
unit. - When checked out, everything was working OK including a fully
charged battery - No one else was flying in the area so he ...
Sunday's Flying15 Aug 2005 23:32 GMT4
Pilot (me, dangit) takes off with no clear flight plan and much too
close to the pits.  The airplane gets "redirected" by a small gust, I
take evasive action while flying slow and climbing, the plane stalls the
left wing and does exactly 1/2 turn of spin into August-hard ground ...
