MOKI 135 question(s)27 Sep 2005 12:56 GMT4
I seem to be having problems getting this engine running correctly.
Bought new and run in nice and rich using straight 20% castor on a 16
x 8. Thought I'd done it all fine but I don't seem to get the RPM
quoted (8000 - 9000), flat out gives around 7500 and the engine
Bubbles in the fuel line27 Sep 2005 00:41 GMT8
I am running an OS 50SX ring in a 40 size pattern plane.  It has been
running very nicely for the best part of a year.  Just recently it has
started to run erratically hunting at different points in the throttle
quadrant.  Taking the cowl off it was obvious that there were ...

Need help getting/keeping GWS Pico J3 in the air26 Sep 2005 15:52 GMT7
I haven't flown for a few years, but I decided to get back into it by
getting an electric park flyer.  When I was flying I was fairly adept
at slinging my LT-40 around the field, and could manage my mid-star 40
pretty well too.  But I can't seem to keep this GWS Pico J3 (

Flight Box Finish; What?26 Sep 2005 01:21 GMT16
-- I have assembled a new flight box and would like to put a clear finish on
it. I was thinking of a water based Varathane. Does anyone know if that is
fuel proof (nitro)? Are there any other recommendations for a clear fuel
Proof finish?
Hitec servos - any good??26 Sep 2005 01:11 GMT2
I need 10 high speed metal geared high torque servos for this Winters
project - I have always used Futaba in the past.
The above comes to nearly £700 for Futaba or £400 for HiTec - question is -
are they any good???  I would like to save £300 but not at the expense of a

Radio control electric flight enthusiasts are quickly spreading the

policies dictated by their own "politics", WattFlyer breaks the rules
LiPo Battery sizes25 Sep 2005 17:59 GMT16
I am looking to add LiPo batteries to my bearing store.
What are the most common sizes to start with?  I have some 1500mAh 2S and 3S
coming that can handle 20C burst and 15C continuous.  I have access to just
about any size or configuration.
Peculiar idle problem with Saito 8225 Sep 2005 17:13 GMT8
I have a Saito 82 on my 4 star 60 that runs very nicely except in one
respect.  When held vertically and the throtle is reduced to Idle the
engine flames out and much raw fuel runs out of the muffler.   What
could be causing fuel to be sucked into the muffler.
Hong Kong Model shop(s)25 Sep 2005 11:38 GMT1
Years ago now, I use to buy all my hobby stuff out of HK. Since prices
here (in Oz) are getting a bit rich now, I think a revisit to HK for
shopping via the inter net is in order.
Could some kind soul direct me to a web site(s) in HK where they retail

It has a 10x6 on at the moment, but it seems awfully small-and no, I've not
flown it yet so don't know if it will be ok.

Four Stroke Engines25 Sep 2005 08:11 GMT13
I have lots of experience with 2-stroke but I fancy getting a 4-stroke.
Whilst I accept that OS, Saito and the likes probably offer the best quality
I would like to find out your opinions of the lower priced makes such as
Thunder Tiger, ASP and SC.
40 LA won't start hot25 Sep 2005 08:01 GMT5
I have an LA 40 on a Tower Hobbies trainer.  When I start the engine
for the first time of the day it will start on the first hand flip.  If
for some reason the engine stops (I tip it over in longish grass
sometimes) I can't get it started by hand at all and have to resort to
