I've a friend who's contemplating trying out the hobby and I see that Als' have a starter set including a TT40 trainer + 6EXA radio (inc Nicads) and an RMX 40 engine all for £209. The only thing that stops me recommending this setup is that I've never come across the RMX engines ...
