| Oh dear | 09 Jul 2006 21:42 GMT | 1 |
I have just witnessed the worst case of advice-ignoring in my life. In the local model shop this lad walks in. Want s to fly a model so spends about an hour and a half looking and asking and eventually is stocked up with a 40 size ARTF trainer, radio and all the gear. A happy ...

| Wind and lightweight planes | 09 Jul 2006 01:54 GMT | 10 |
Oke, last weekend had me a bit baffled. I built a 200% version of Parkzone's Stryker a while ago. Originally powered by twin speed 600 brushed motors, now by twin 2000kV brushless motors with 6x5 props (i think - could be 6x4, forgot). In addition to the scale fins

| *OLD* Sig P51D kit... | 08 Jul 2006 22:47 GMT | 18 |
Was cleaning the garage today and found a Sig "Kwik Bilt" P51D kit.. It's got to be at least 15 years old and amazingly, all the wood and foam are in excellent shape. I don't see any warps or dings on anything. The instructions are a bit stiff and yellow, but workable.

| A question for those with Fox engine experience | 08 Jul 2006 21:51 GMT | 28 |
I picked up some older, NIB Fox engines a while back; two .40BBs and a .36BB. None came with mufflers. Fox sells a "tilt up" and "tilt down" muffler for the .40. Which do you feel is the most versatile? I don't know which, if any, models the engines

Any ideas as to how long model fuel should store Ok for? Tried some today which I bought Sept last year and it's been stored in a nice cool place. Engine didn't seem to want to run very well and more smokre than normal.

| Easystar vs Firebird Commander | 08 Jul 2006 03:13 GMT | 12 |
Have been doing some reading on this forum and gathered that the best starter plane would be the Easystar or the Firebird Commander. My main criteria for buying a starter plane is how solid and durable it is. I experienced last summer a plane that was more of a toy than a rc

A couple of questions to which I would be most grateful for answers. 1. With multiple cell LiPo's how are they connected? For example if I had a 4S2P would it be connected as four pairs of cells that are each connected in parallel connected in series or would it be two strings of ...

Built a custom 70 inch wingspan glider Checked CG, side to side balance and all other pre-flight checks and control surfaces. When I launched it from a hilltop it glided well for 4 seconds, built up airspeed, nose went up, lost air speed, Nose went

| The JR Synthesized Transmitter module trouble??? | 06 Jul 2006 12:04 GMT | 5 |
I wonder if anyone is using one of these. Sunday I flew my Flying King, Saito 80, and had a receiver on channel 52 and used the new JR synthesidzed module in my JR Transmitter. All went well until the third flight and while in a slow roll, everything failed. Couldn't

| AK-Models? Anyone know about them? | 06 Jul 2006 04:48 GMT | 7 |
They advertise semi-scale warbird arfs in Model Aviation but the price seems too cheap. Thier ad shows an F4U Corsair 58 inch wing span for $129.95. Has anyone out there ever bought one of their ARFS? Your comments are greatly appreciated.

| Predator | 06 Jul 2006 04:40 GMT | 1 |
I was wondering if anyone has flown or heard anything about the Predator EP 3 Channel RTF from Hobbico Flyzone? It's in the latest TH magazine and I thought it looked pretty sharp. I fly and have always flown gas but am considering the switch to electric, would this be a
