Don Smith B-2401 Sep 2006 00:31 GMT1
I am about to start a Don Smith B-24.  This project is funded and ready to
start purchasing the cut kit, engines, etc.  Does anyone know of one flying
or being built so I can ask a few questions.

How about this  one, for a scale model?31 Aug 2006 01:03 GMT1

RMX 40 2 stroke engines.30 Aug 2006 20:27 GMT9
I am rapidly becoming our club's deadstick champion!
Aborted takeoffs, 6 ft in the air, a speciality.
We have a most unforgiving hedge to get over when the wind is from the NW!.
My new RMX 40  ( fitted upright) powers my World Models Superstunt 40

1/6 Scale P-51D29 Aug 2006 23:51 GMT1
Anyone know who makes a good 1/6 scale P-51D kit? The size I'm looking
for falls between the 2 Top-Flite kits. Hangar-9 has a 1/6 scale
Mustang, but it's an ARF. I've found references to a Pica kit, but I'm
not sure if they're still in business. Looking for recommendations.
Retracts & JR XP610229 Aug 2006 15:19 GMT5
I am setting up retracts for the first time.   When I go to the travel
adjust screen in the JR XP6102 transmitter to limit the servo travel, it
doesn't seem to work.  Looking at the graphical display of servo motion, it
shows the gear channel with appropriate limited motion, but ...
An Ugly (but working) Solution29 Aug 2006 14:06 GMT6
After taking some time off to experience intense back pain I took the
Laird Solution out flying today.  I blocked off the notch where the
canopy isn't, and added about 25% more area to the vertical stabilizer
(this is on a plane that _was_ a nice pretty black & yellow of the

Colors for a Patriot29 Aug 2006 01:30 GMT7
I'm wondering if I would be able to see my Patriot if I covered it with
Monocoat Silver (brushed aluminum look) and used the Highly reflective
silver that you find on the long trim sheets at the LHS.This trim stuff
is really shiny. Kinda tired of the yellow and red and just want
Two million more28 Aug 2006 17:19 GMT8
Just announced on the news tonight....
Another computer company (missed the name) is recalling 2 million lap
top batteries as there are safety concerns about them going on fire.
I guess they will re-furbish them and sell them to gullible aero
Forming Charge For Small Battery Packs28 Aug 2006 07:19 GMT5
I've got some 6 Cell, NiCd battery packs of 270 mAh & 400 mAh capacities
that I need to charge for the first time.  There are different schools of
thought on whether or not modern NiCd cells still need to be conditioned
with a forming charge, but I do it just because it can't ...
Paper cowlings26 Aug 2006 04:18 GMT4
A friend who worked at the LHS told me he had made cowlings out of
paper towels and carpenters' glue. After a number of years and my
friend had passed away, I decided to give his technique a try.
The procedure is rather simple. Let me describe how I did it according
mode one and mode two26 Aug 2006 00:36 GMT1
I've got a cheapo electric helecopter, i thought i had identified the TX
(see last post from me) but it dosent seem to be the Zhen Hua unit i thought
it was, it might be, looks similar in layout, but having seen the internals
of the zehn hua, it's not the same.
Astro 10 Propeller Size25 Aug 2006 21:13 GMT10
What size prop should I use for an Astro 10 direct drive.  Also, what
number of cells should I use and what range of amperage draw should I
expect.
I have no instructions or spec.sheets.
