Large electric plane08 Aug 2006 22:48 GMT12
Hi, I have a friend who is a diehard gasoline powered large models who
wants to get into electric planes.
What he wanted me to ask is, what would he need to fly a very large
model like the Edge 540 or Cap 232 with wingspans of about 87-88",
Sopwith Triplane08 Aug 2006 22:07 GMT5
Has anybody got any experience with a Jerry Behrens drawn Sopwith Triplane
plan. I have just purchased 2 tiff files of the 80" model but would like
some guidance before starting to build.
For starters there is the choice of two aerofoil profiles, one semi
Superstunts 4008 Aug 2006 09:29 GMT2
I wonder if  other Superstunts 40 owners have experienced my problem.
No amount of fine tuning will prevent my upright Ripmax/RMX 40 2 stroke from
cutting out once it has a full head of steam and  usually when the bird is
flying.
Covering scheme for visibility08 Aug 2006 09:12 GMT12
I am getting ready to recover the wing on a .60 Stik.  I would like
to use the green and white that the rest of the plane already is, but I
don't have any of the graphics that were used when the wing was covered
the first time.  Is there any standard for how to cover a wing in terms
Anyone?08 Aug 2006 02:07 GMT7
I just placed an order with Tower Hobbies. No, there's nothing unusual about
that, but this was one of "those" orders.
Don't know what "those" orders are?
Well, it wasn't for an engine, a radio or an airplane. It was one of "those"
Drilling props07 Aug 2006 02:25 GMT15
What is your preferred method for drilling props?
I've always used the little hand reamers I've bought from the hobby
companies.  I have one in metric and one SAE.  Problem is, my big Saitos
need a 10mm whole in the prop and my reamer doesn't go that big.
Anyone have experience with the "Force One" delta?07 Aug 2006 00:48 GMT9
I had one given to me at the field last weekend.  It had an
old-but-apparently-strong .46 ASP engine in it turning an APC 10x7 pusher
prop.  The gentlemen let me test fly it before taking it home to remove his
radio gear.  He said it had been test-flown successfully a couple of ...
(Glow) Fuel tank for confined space question ?06 Aug 2006 16:04 GMT21
Hi Chaps,
Basically my problem is I only have a space 1 3/4 inches (4.5cm) tall to put my
glow fuel tank in.  Said tank needs to be around 12oz (350cc) or ideally a
little bigger.  I've got DuBro and Sullivan tanks to hand and they both measure
Lightweight servo wire06 Aug 2006 13:36 GMT5
does anyone know a source of lightweight servo wire in the UK ?  I have some of
the normal stull but it seems a bit thick and heavy for attaching to 4.9gramme
servos and I just wondered if anyone here knows a source of some lighter wire.
Thanks,
heavy slow stick with floats06 Aug 2006 01:07 GMT18
I just put a set of GWS floats on my slow stick with a brushed 400.  I
run 8 cell AAA NiMH packs.  I weighed the whole unit and it came to
20.5 oz.  I havent been able to get out and give it a go.  Do you guys
think this heavy thing will fly?  What upgrade would give me the most

My engine sometimes stops during flight, and it has also konked out while
running on the ground.
I have replaced the fuel tank and all the fuel lines, plus I have replaced
the glow plug, and I have a new gallon of fuel.
1/5 Scale Cub Landing Gear05 Aug 2006 03:49 GMT2
I have 1/5 scale sig Cub.
Does anyone out there have the Robart 1/5 scale landing gear. Does it
improve the looks of the aircraft, and does it have a shock absorbing
effect?
Tower engine question04 Aug 2006 03:36 GMT21
Does anyone have experience with the tower .46 ABC BB engine.
According to the specs it is lighter and puts out slightly more H.P.
than the OS .46 FX and at $79.99 might very well be my next engine.
Thanks,

Aero-Naut03 Aug 2006 21:38 GMT4
Is there a dealer in the UK that keeps most of the aero-naut range ?
In particular I am after a folding prop that will fit a a 3mm shaft (as
fitted on some el-cheapo brushless motors). Aero-Naut do a centre yoke for
a 3mm shaft.
