| Recommendation on a kit | 06 Nov 2006 15:21 GMT | 20 |
I've built a couple of trainers and would really like to build a P-51 Mustang now. However, I've read a couple of things that suggest that such a project might still be a little advanced for me. So, I have a couple of questions. First, does anyone have a recommendation for a

| OS 1.20AX Tank Size | 05 Nov 2006 23:10 GMT | 4 |
I'm debating between the OS 120 S-E four stroke or the 1.20AX. Looking at the on-line manuals for each, OS recommends a 400 CC (14 oz) tank for the four stroke for about 10 minutes flights and, oddly enough, a 350 CC (12 oz) tank for the 1.2 AX for 10 to 12 minutes flights. I ...

| Great Lakes special | 05 Nov 2006 10:38 GMT | 7 |
I built a 1/6th great lakes special a number of years ago, from a plan from Model world (I think it is a Gordon Whitehead design). It has always been a bit of a handful, with a fast flying speed due to its weight.

| Propping | 04 Nov 2006 22:32 GMT | 10 |
I just read Ed Creeger's comments on propping the trainer with the SC.40 (whatever the SC.40 is). Ed's comment indicated that a 10x6 prop would fly the plane, but wouldn't offer the braking that the 11x5 would. Nor would the 10x6 get the plane off the ground as quickly. This is ...

| Thoughts on IGNITION TIMING | 04 Nov 2006 14:06 GMT | 2 |
While doing my first strimmer/weedwacker conversion I've been pondering on simple ways to make things lighter and more versatile: The flywheel on the new, unknown make engine I'm converting seems rather lumpy, even after skimming on the lathe. This is because it

| Super Tigre G61 keeps blowing plugs... | 03 Nov 2006 10:42 GMT | 4 |
My new and not quite run in yet ST61 ring engine is being an absolute pig-the first couple of tankfulls ran ok, but next time I came to run it it wouldn't fire. Plug after plug was blowing, the compression is so low that my 2 year old son can turn it over, there is a nastly 'click'
